Project Overview

This Santa Barbara villa reinterprets classic Mediterranean architectural principles for contemporary living. The home is organized around a central courtyard that creates a microclimate of comfort while serving as the heart of family life. Arched doorways, hand-applied plaster walls, and terracotta roof tiles honor traditional Mediterranean aesthetics, while open-plan interiors, retractable glass walls, and state-of-the-art systems bring the design firmly into the present day. The landscape design features drought-resistant Mediterranean species that thrive in the California climate.
